Citizen science
On every dive, you photograph the whale sharks you encounter, focusing on their skin patterns, unique to each individual, like a fingerprint. These shots make it possible to photo-identify them and track their movements over time. The data collected will be passed to the Galapagos Whale Shark Project, which works to protect the species in the region.
